How Long Does it Take to Paint the Outside of My House?
Painting the outside of a house can feel like an overwhelming project - how long does it really take? I break it down for you here (and it's shorter than you think!)
When considering how long it will take to paint your house the number thing to know is the SIZE REALLY MATTERS.
Washing the exterior is standard with all new external paint jobs usually a day is added for basic washing
Now in addition to size, condition of the existing surface is very important. Does the outside need much prep and or repair before painting can begin. Are you changing the color and and as a result will the new color require more coats of paint to completely cover what's already there.
Does the house have beautiful detailing that will require special attention? Are the soffits being painted as well? How many colors are involved? 3 or more colors can add time because of dry time where the colors meet.
Weather is the most random and like SIZE really matters to how long it will take. The external house painting season in the Northeast is usually May thru July picking up again End of August through October.
